Vinay Badhwar, MD

Hello! My name is Dr. Vinay Badhwar and I am a cardiac surgeon having graduated from University of Ottawa in 1993. To date, I have performed approximately 5,000 cardiac surgeries, of which 3,000 involved heart valve procedures. I regularly perform surgery at West Virginia University Heart & Vascular Institute.

I believe my greatest strength is the ability to bring the very latest innovation and technology in reconstructive and minimally invasive or robotic valvular care to my patients in a very personal and compassionate manner.

I make every clinical decision based not only on the most up-to-date international evidence focused on optimal outcomes, but based on what I would do if my patients were members of my own family. I pride myself and that of my excellent team in the detailed comprehensive care we provide to our valve patients every day.
