Ospedale Del Cuore
My name is Rosa Giusti, and I am currently in the final year of my residency in Cardiac Surgery at the Università Politecnica delle Marche, Italy. I graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Pisa in 2020. For the past three years, I’ve been training at the Ospedale del Cuore in Massa, focusing on mitral valve disease and its surgical management.
Throughout my residency, I’ve developed a strong clinical and academic interest in minimally invasive and endoscopic cardiac surgery, which I believe represents both the present and future of the field. My training has taken place across high-volume, specialized centers in Ancona, Varese, and Massa, allowing me to gain a broad and critical perspective on the treatment of valvular heart disease, particularly mitral valve prolapse.
Alongside my clinical work, I’m actively involved in research and have participated in national and international projects. I’ve presented at leading conferences, including ISMICS and the ECS Club, and have published peer-reviewed articles. My recent work focuses on endoscopic techniques, valve-in-MAC approaches, and machine learning applications to predict mitral valve repairability. Next goal? Robotic surgery, of course!
