Farhad Bakhtiary, MD

Professor Bakhtiary is a renowned specialist in the field of endoscopic minimally invasive cardiac surgery without sternal incision and has gained extensive experience at major hospitals such as Leipzig University Hospital, where he spent eight years as Deputy Head of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery and later as Deputy Director of the Department of Cardiac Surgery. Furthermore, Professor Bakhtiary headed the Helios Heart Center NRW, Siegburg-Wuppertal, for another five years. Since June 2021, he has been the Director of the Department of Cardiac Surgery at Bonn University Hospital. During his career, he has performed approximately more than 10,000 procedures on children and adults, establishing himself as an expert in his field. Immediately after completing his medical studies at Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main in 2001, Professor Bakhtiary devoted himself equally to science and his surgical skills. His commitment and motivation have led him to continually further his education and to participate in and contribute to the development of new surgical techniques and equipment in order to achieve the maximum health and quality of life for his patients.
