Anton Tomšič, MD, PhD

Anton Tomšič graduated as a medical doctor at the University of the Ljubljana, Slovenia. He obtained his PhD degree on mitral valve surgery at Leiden University, the Netherlands, in 2021. In 2023 he completed his training in cardio-thoracic surgery at Leiden University Medical Center. He is currently working as a consultant cardiac surgeon at University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf, Germany. His primary areas of interest are minimally invasive mitral valve surgery and atrial fibrillation. His clinical work is closely intertwined with research, primarily focusing on surgical techniques and the outcomes of mitral valve surgery.
