Mustafa Serkan Durdu, MD, PhD

M.Serkan Durdu was born in 1975, in Kayseri, Turkey. He went to elemantary and high school in Kayseri Atatürk Highschool. After graduating, he entered Erciyes University School of Medicine. He graduated as a medical doctor in 1998. He was qualified to cardiovascular surgery as a resident in Ankara University Cardiovascular Department, in the same year and graduated as a cardiovascular surgery specialist in September, 2005.  He started to get a phD in the Department of Basic Biotechnology, Biotechnology Institute, in September 2005.  After completing and passing all lessons, He was qualified as a phD, in July 2010. He served as a surgeon for compolsutary miliyary service between the years of 2008 and 2009 in Gülhane Military Medical Academy.

Primary clinical and research activities include; minimally invasive cardiac surgery, robotic mitral valve surgery, minimally invasive ascending aorta surgery, heart transplantation and ventricule assist devices, angiogenesis, myogenesis, molecullar mechanism of atrial fibrillation, surgical procedures in heart failure, off-pump coronary by-pass surgery, stentless aortic valve replacement, arrhytmia surgery, molecular mechanism in mitral regurtition. Dr. Durdu serves as a referee for The Anatolian Journal of Cardiology, Turkish Journal of Haematology, Türk Kalp ve Damar Cerrahisi Dergisi and The Journal of Ankara University Faculty of Medicine.
